About this event
"I feel joy just from having sat through that."

- Jeff

Welcome to a completely new way to expand your love for mountain biking. Join Lee McCormack from Lee Likes Bikes for two hours of fun, learning and inspiration.

In his 20+ years as a professional mountain bike skills coach, Lee has worked with more than 10,000 riders of all types (some just like you) and has trained 1,500 mountain bike coaches in youth cycling leagues across the United States.

Mountain biking is a microcosm of life. Unlike Life, which can be big and terrifying and sometimes seems forced upon us, mountain biking is small, fun and voluntary — which makes it a powerful tool for personal growth. This sport contains every lesson a person needs to become a great athlete and human. When Lee helps you improve your biking life, your entire life improves.

The big pieces
The main components of a great mountain biking life, in order of importance, are:

Mind. A great mindset starts with how you relate to yourself then extends into your riding group and community.
Body. Physical skills start with solid universal movement and fitness then focuses on bike-specific abilities.
Bike. Fancy bikes are the least important aspect of riding, but your equipment has to fit you.
Talk dates
Each talk will include lots of laughs plus advice for mind, body and bike. The topics build from talk to talk. Ideally you'll attend all the talks, but that's not necessary. Here is the planned focus for each talk. Lee will adjust as needed to suit your needs.

May 16- JoyRide Rules. Core engagement and riding positions. Choosing the right bike size.

June 13 - Stoplight Metaphor. Cornering. Handlebar width.

July 11 - Fear. Descending. Suspension; how much do you need and how to use it.

August 8 - Progression. Pedaling with more power and less effort. Climbing technical trails.

September 5 - Competition (with yourself and others). Pumping, hopping and jumping.

Each talk is scheduled for two hours, with time for Q&A at the end.

Cost: $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
